Session 1: Investigations Into Art-Making

This 3-day intensive will combine art studio and gallery visits with hands-on investigations into different art-making techniques. We will tour private art studios around Anchorage and have the opportunity to interview the artists. We will then return to the studio and incorporate these new influences into our own projects.

Spenard Spring Social Photos

I took a few pictures at the Spenard Spring Social. I also set up a group pool if anyone else has any pictures from this event, or even from any of the Spenard Spring Socials from the last ten years or so. We had to leave early, after One Blue Wall finished, because the kids had to leave after their set since they’re minors. And also because we had a babysitter waiting for us. So we didn’t get to see all the bands. Maybe next year.

Wright’s band, One Blue Wall, was featured on the show Teenage Lobotomy broadcast from KRUA, the University of Alaska at Anchorage‘s radio station. I recorded the show with WireTap Studio and then edited it and leveled it with Audacity. The show had some mixing issues on occasion and I didn’t try correct those.

The schedule for the 2008 film festival was announced today. AIFF published an online guide and schedule in PDF format. Mac users users can download the schedule in .ics format to import into iCal. Everone else can import or bookmark the Google calendar below.

Amazon Unbox and Subtitles

I purchased Save The Green Planet* from Amazon Unbox last night. When I started watching it on my Tivo I was surprised to find that there were no English subtitles. I knew the movie was from South Korea but I had looked at the DVD version before buying from Unbox and I knew that it had English subtitles.
